Sponsorship of Family Members in the UAE Simplified

Who Can Sponsor:

Expatriate residents, including both employers and employees, with valid residency permits can sponsor their families.

Sponsorship Criteria:

Male residents employed in the UAE can sponsor immediate family members like wife and children, meeting specific conditions such as minimum salary requirements.

Updated Regulations:

Since March 2019, profession type is no longer a condition for family sponsorship. Any expatriate worker meeting income criteria can sponsor family visas.

Sponsoring Wife and Children:

An expatriate resident can sponsor the residence visa for his wife and children, provided he meets GDRFA requirements.

Sponsoring Two Wives:

In specific cases, a Muslim resident may sponsor two wives, subject to certain terms and conditions.Daughters can be sponsored only if unmarried

Sponsoring Sons:

Sons can be sponsored up to age 18. If studying, sponsorship extends until age 21 with proof of education.

Woman Sponsoring Family:

Women in certain professions with a specified salary threshold can sponsor husband and children. Special permission may be required otherwise.

Required Documents:

Ensure you have the following documents ready for family visa sponsorship in Dubai:

Sponsor's valid Residence Visa, Emirates ID, Passport Copy, Photo

Family members' Passport copies and Passport-sized Photos

MOFA Attested relationship certificate (Marriage Certificate for wife, Birth Certificate for children) Sponsor's Labor Contract or Salary Certificate

Residence proof (Ejari), latest DEWA Bill, last 3 Month Bank Statement
